Oral Contraceptives
The
health risks of birth control pills.
One risk associated with
contraceptives involves the health of the person using the device.
Some studies have shown that women who use birth control pills have
experienced higher incidences of breast cancer, high blood pressure,
strokes, and other health problems. As a result, the FDA now requires
the manufacturers of birth control pills to provide extensive
information to consumers about those risks in each package.
Because of the vast
amount of information that the manufacturers of birth control pills
are required to supply directly to the users of their products, it's
increasingly difficult for women who suffer from known side effects to
successfully sue these manufacturers.
